ACTRA Maritimes
ACTRA Maritimes is part of a national organization of professional performers working in the English-language recorded media. ACTRA Maritimes represents more than 500 Members in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. I have been working with ACTRA and ACTRA Maritimes for more than 10 years.
My early work ACTRA Maritimes included ACTRA’s first-ever online Talent Directory (which is now managed by another provider) and three versions of the Directory in print. A searchable CD-ROM version of the Directory was also produced and distributed out to every production/casting company in Atlantic Canada.
I like to think that the success of these early efforts led to ACTRA National developing their own highly successful national Talent Directory.
ACTRA Maritimes current website includes a custom database module for managing content on the website in-house and I continue to provide assistance with updates when required. It also includes a dedicated WordPress Blog that was initially developed for the ACTRA stike action in 2007 and is now used for general Member news and announcements.
I have also donated my time on a second project with ACTRA Maritimes, developing a Blog for their PAL Halifax initiative, which is, in my opinion, a very worthwhile cause.
